RPPC taken November 9, 1913 at Washington Park in Los Angeles showcasing an exhibition game between the Chicago White Sox and New York Giants as they toured the West Coast prior to undertaking their around the world tour.
The back notes it is Tessreau, the Giants pitcher at bat and Bill Klem, the HOF umpire, behind the plate on that date. A check of the boxscore for that game establishes that is Leverenz we see on the mound for the White Sox. Also visible are Ray Schalk at catcher, Hal Chase at first base, Germany Schaeffer at second base, Buck Weaver at shortstop, Jim Thorpe in right field and Tris Speaker in a very shallow centerfield as was his custom.
The outfield wall displays adds for local venues such as Venice Auditorium.
