The Chapman Deadball Collection is dedicated to bringing the Deadball Era to life through the exhibition of hundreds of vintage prints from the era. Jim Chapman is an avid collector of Deadball Era baseball photography and the author of Baseball Photography of the Deadball Era. While he treasures the vintage Deadball prints he has amassed, he has come to realize his true passion is collecting knowledge about those prints. Uncovering the stories behind the prints and the lives of the photographers who snapped them utterly fascinates him. This book is the culmination of the blending these twin passions, acquisitiveness and curiosity. The discoveries and stories presented herein will enlighten and entertain collectors and baseball fans alike.

Chapman is a native of Waxahachie, Texas and lives there with his wife, Melissa. He has BBA and JD degrees from Southern Methodist University, and an MBA from Yale University. He currently serves as Presiding Judge of the Ellis County Court at Law No. 1., a general jurisdiction trial court.
