Tris Speaker is shown goofing off with the team’s mascot, Danny Callahan, prior to the World Tour game in London. Note the black long sleeve shirt under his jersey and the high collar. Now look at the swinging photo of Speaker also taken it London and it becomes crystal clear the swinging photo is Speaker.
This image depicts Fred Merkle at bat during the 1914 World Tour game in London. Although it is misidentified on back, but it is clearly Merkle for the New York Giants. Many of the London World Tour newsphotos were mistakenly identified on back.
