Ty Cobb at Jungle Park 1917

This image was taken at Jungle Park in Waxahachie, Texas during Spring Training on the same day in March 1917 as the Cobb group photo also in the Collection. The key is the jersey just above the belt line and the cap.

Cobb’s torso is rotated more to the right in the image at left, bear this in mind when examining the photos. Note the vertical creases in the jersey. The large crease just between and above the two right belt loops. The crease at furthest right with its billowing and 45 angle crease that ends at the far right belt loop. The pooching long fold over the belt loop at right and the crease between the far left and center belt loop.

Also, take a look at the cap.

There is crease running along the lower left edge of the cap. This crease is evident in the head on shot at right.
