Unusual image of Rube Waddell wielding a bat for the St. Louis Cardinals. Based on the uniform, he is wearing the Browns’ road uniform, this image must be from 1908 or 1909 and is likely at Hilltop Park in New York City based on the building in the background. This print has been been been mounted to a thin paper backing which was removed from an additional mount as evidenced by the glue residue on the back. It was likely printed in the 1910s based on the period Brown Brothers stamp on back that is visible with a backlight as seen in the photo below.
