This 1905 image of Christy Mathewson was taken by Louis Van Oeyen. This print was used to produce the 1906 Lajoie Baseball Guide. You can still see the white back white residue in the lower right corner where the oval image shown below was pasted over it to produce the guide. We also know it is a 1905 image based on the “.” after the “N” on Matty’s jersey.
