Addie Joss Day – Panorama, 1911

A snippet from a larger Louis Van Oeyen panoramic photo of the teams lined up on Addie Joss Day. Joss, the Cleveland Naps star, had died of tubercular meningitis at age 31 in April. A team of American League “All Stars” came to Cleveland’s League Park on July 24, 1911 to play the hometown Naps for the benefit of Joss’s family.

This snippet includes members of the All Star team. Hall of Famers Walter Johnson, Bobby Wallace and Home Run Baker are shown. The larger panoramic image is shown below.
