Addie Joss Day dugout, 1911

A photo by Louis Van Oeyen which belonged to Walter Johnson himself. The names are in Johnson’s own handwriting, note he did not label himself.

(L to R) “Home Run” Baker, Joe Wood, Walter Johnson and WaJo’s catcher Gabby Street.

A collection of American League “All Star” players gathered on July 24, 1911 for a benefit game for Addie Joss’s family at League Park in Cleveland. Joss had died at age 31 of Tubercular meningitis in April.

Here is another copy of the same photo with the Van Oeyen stamp on back.

This image also appeared in the September 1911 issue of Baseball Magazine with several other images from that day all attributed to Van Oeyen.
