World Tour, Buck Weaver at Bat, 1914

Two photos of Buck Weaver in mid-swing at Stamford Bridge Stadium. Although the back identifies the player as Sam Crawford, it is actually Weaver. Weaver is wearing the chapeau he acquired in the prior stop in Paris. This image in the World Tour souvenir program, which was taken in London, definitively proves this as Weaver is the only player wearing a chapeau.

In the second photo shown below it is also clearly Weaver at bat even though it is clearly misidentified as Doolan of the Giants.

Here is another known image of Weaver at that game wearing his chapeau. He is holding Danny Callahan the team’s mascot.
