After the 1913 Major League season, and before they embarked their overseas World Tour in 1913-1914 the New York Giants and Chicago White Sox barnstormed their way across the country for a series of games.

This image depicts the view from the third base line during the game. Joe Benz is on the mound for the White Sox and Hal Chase is playing first off of the bag. Christy Mathewson was coaching first base for the Giants and he can be seen in the coach’s box with his hand on his hips. Note the full line of automobiles ringing the outfield.
