They show the Red Sox pitchers who appeared after Ruth had left the game. Rankin Johnson, the right hander, is the shown on the mound in the first photo and Frtiz Coumbe, the left hander in the second photo.

The details shown in these photos were key to establishing the Ruth identification in the real photo postcard. In particular, the scoreboard, which serves as a virtual Rosetta Stone to deciphering the three images collectively.
