Shown here are two snapshots taken later in Babe Ruth’s second game.
Given the vantage point, the photos were likely taken by the same photographer as the real photo postcard of Ruth on the mound. They show the Red Sox pitchers who appeared after Ruth had left the game. Rankin Johnson, the right hander, is the shown on the mound in the first photo and Frtiz Coumbe, the left hander in the second photo.
The details shown in these photos were key to establishing the Ruth identification in the real photo postcard. In particular, the scoreboard, which serves as a virtual Rosetta Stone to deciphering the three images collectively.
